Planning Solutions
To address the client’s need for efficient ice storage and delivery, we developed a comprehensive system tailored to their operations. The client required elevated modular ice bins strategically placed across their facility for top-icing produce. These bins needed to integrate seamlessly with outdoor ice makers and deliver ice reliably to multiple locations.
We designed a system that uses a high-capacity pneumatic blower to transport ice through aluminum pipes running across the ceiling. By incorporating directional valves, we ensured precise ice delivery to the bins requiring replenishment. To protect the ice and bins, cyclones were added to reduce impact pressure and allow the ice to gently drop into storage. With this well-planned approach, we created a solution that optimizes ice delivery, storage, and produce cooling processes.
Innovative System Design
This project featured a modular system designed to streamline ice distribution and storage. The elevated bins were positioned to provide convenient access for top-icing operations, ensuring faster and more efficient handling. Ice, generated by outdoor ice makers, travels through durable aluminum pipes, guided by directional valves to reach the appropriate bins.
To preserve the quality of the ice, we installed cyclones at the entry points of each bin. These components reduce the velocity of the ice, allowing it to gently settle into storage. Additionally, the system’s modular design supports future expansion and customization, making it a scalable solution for evolving operational needs. By combining innovative features with precise engineering, this design enhances productivity and reliability.

Efficient Ice Delivery
Delivering ice efficiently across a large facility requires a system that operates with precision and speed. The pneumatic blower system pushes ice from the outdoor ice makers through aluminum pipes, which span the ceiling and connect to each elevated bin. Directional valves manage the flow, directing ice exactly where it’s needed.
Before entering the bins, ice passes through cyclones that control the flow and reduce impact pressure. This step ensures the ice retains its structure while being gently deposited into storage. Once in the bins, the ice is ready for top-icing produce, keeping it fresh and maintaining quality. This streamlined delivery process minimizes waste and maximizes operational efficiency.
Tailored to Industry Needs
Every element of this ice storage system was customized to meet the specific demands of the produce industry. The elevated bins were designed to integrate seamlessly into the client’s workflow, providing easy access for top-icing produce. The aluminum piping system, paired with a powerful pneumatic blower, ensures consistent ice delivery throughout the facility.
To enhance durability, we selected high-quality materials capable of withstanding constant use in demanding environments. The addition of cyclones and directional valves further improves performance by protecting ice quality and enabling precise distribution. By tailoring the system to the client’s exact needs, we delivered a solution that supports freshness, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
